Synoptic Situation:

Strong monsoon currents along with westerly low-pressure system prevails over most parts of the region.

 

Weather Forecast for Tuesday      Sunset 18:41  

·        Rain thunderstorm with lighting and strong gusty winds is very likely over Chitral (Upper & Lower), Dir (Upper & Lower), Swat, Buner, Malakand, Shangla, Bajaur, Torghar, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan (Upper & Lower), Kolai Pallas Kohistan, Mardan, Swabi, Haripur, Peshawar, Mohmand, Charsadda, Nowshera, Khyber, Kurram, Kohat, Hangu, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, South and North Waziristan districts.

·        Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also very likely at isolated to scattered places over the region.

·        Heavy to very heavy rain fall may generate flash floods in local nullah/streams/rivers of Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan (Upper & Lower), Kolai Pallas, Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Battagram, Buner, Hangu, Torghar, Haripur, Karak, Chitral (Upper & Lower), Dir (Upper & Lower), Swat, Shangla, Khyber, Kohat, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Shangla, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Malakand, Mansehra, Mohmand, Orakzai, Bannu, Waziristan (North & South) and Tank during the forecast period

·        Torrential rain may cause urban flood in low lying areas of Peshawar, Nowshera, Tank and D.I.Khan.

·        Landslides may cause roads closure in the vulnerable hilly areas of Abbottabad, Battagram, Buner, Chitral (Upper & Lower), Dir (Upper & Lower), Khyber, Kohistan (Upper & Lower), Kolai Pallas Kohistan, Kurram, Malakand, Mansehra, Mohmand, Orakzai, Shangla, Swat, Torghar and North Waziristan.

·        Heavy falls/windstorm and lightning may damage weak structures like roof/wall of Kacha houses, electric poles, bill boards, vehicles and solar panels etc., during the forecast period.

·        Farmers are advised to manage their activities keeping in view the weather forecast.

·        Public, Travelers and tourists are advised to avoid travelling in the vulnerable areas of the province in order to save their lives during the severe weather conditions.
